Excel Basic Formulas which are commonly used

Excel Is a Software Program by Microsoft That Uses Spread Sheets to Organize Numbers and Data with Formulas and Functions Which Use Mostly for Businesses, school mark sheets, etc.

 

Here we have few formulas of excel sheets that are commonly used:

 

1.   Add up the total

 

This formula is used to sum the figures on spreadsheets

 

Formula:

 

=SUM (Cell range)

 

Example

=SUM (D1:D10)

 

2.   To add individual items:

This formula is used to sum the individual figures on spreadsheets

Formula

=value2+ value3

 

Example

= (D3+F3)

 

3.   Subtract

This formula is used to subtract figures on spreadsheets

 

Formula

=Value 1-value2

Example

=D2-D3

4.   Multiply

This formula is used to multiply figures on spreadsheets

 

Formula

=value1*value2

Example

=D2*D3

5.   Divide

This formula is used to divide figures at spreadsheets

=value 1/value2

Example

=D2/D3

6.   Exponent

This formula is used to exponent (value show how many times to multiply a base number by itself, for example,  43  is telling you to multiply four by itself three times)  figures at spreadsheets

7.   Average

This formula is used to find the average between figures at spreadsheets

=AVERAGE (cell range)

Example

=Average(D2:D9)

This formula is used to the median range at spreadsheets

=MEDIAN(Cell range)

Example

=MEDIAN(D2:D9)

9.   Max

This formula is used to find maximum value on spreadsheet data

=MAX(cell range)

10.  Min

This formula is used to find minimum value on spreadsheet data

=MIN(cell range)
